Best Apps to See Who Unfollowed You on Instagram (2026)

The best app to see who unfollowed you on Instagram is one that reads your followers list without ever taking your password on a screen of its own, and without unfollowing or liking anything for you. Every app below works the same basic way: Instagram's Help Center describes no unfollow alert, so these apps save your followers list and compare it with the next check. What separates them is how they get that list and what else they do with your account.

A note before the list: we make Follo, one of the apps below. To keep the comparison fair, we described every app, ours included, only from what its App Store or Google Play listing, its website and its privacy policy said when we checked them on 15 October 2026, and we asked the same questions about each one.

The short answer

  • Want no login at all? Use an app that reads Instagram's own data download, such as FollowBuddy or Unfollr, or compare two downloads yourself. It's slower, because you request every export by hand.
  • Want it automatic on your phone? Use an app you sign in to, and check that the sign-in happens on Instagram's own login page and that the app never follows, unfollows or likes for you. Follo and Reports+ both state that you sign in on Instagram's page.
  • Skip apps that promise who viewed your profile or mass unfollowing. Instagram doesn't share profile views with anyone, and bulk actions are a common reason accounts get restricted.

How we compared the apps

We asked five questions of every app, using only what the developer itself publishes:

  1. Where do you sign in? On Instagram's own login page, on a form the app built, or not at all (data download upload).
  2. Does it act on your account? Features like "unfollow all" or mass unfollow mean the app sends actions as you.
  3. What does it claim to show? Unfollowers and non-followers are list comparisons any app can do. Profile visitors and private accounts are not.
  4. Is it current? We only included apps updated in 2026 and available in the US App Store or Google Play.
  5. Which devices? iPhone, Android or web.

We left out apps whose listings say little beyond a name, apps not updated for a year or more, and another unfollower app made by people connected to Follo, so this list only has one app we're involved with.

Three ways unfollower apps get your followers list

1. Apps you sign in to

You log in to Instagram inside the app, and it reads your followers and following each time you check. This is the least effort and the type to choose most carefully. Instagram's Help Center warns that giving an app your username and password can give it complete access to your account, and its page on data-scraping restrictions lists sharing your password with a third-party app and automated collection of information among the reasons an account gets restricted. An app that signs you in on Instagram's own page doesn't receive your password, but any app reading your lists while you're signed in can still trigger an Instagram security check.

2. Apps that read your data download

You request your followers and following from Instagram's Accounts Center, wait for the file, and upload it. No login and no password, but the app only knows what was in your last download, so you repeat the export every time you want a new comparison.

3. Websites that look up public profiles

You type a username and the site reads what's publicly visible. These only work on public accounts and only track from the day you first add a username. None of the apps below is mainly this type.

The apps, one by one

Follo (iPhone and Android) – our app

Sign-in: on Instagram's official login page inside the app; Follo never sees or stores your password. Actions: it doesn't follow, unfollow or like by itself, and there's no mass unfollow. What it shows: each time you open it, Follo compares your followers and following with your last check and shows who unfollowed you since then, who doesn't follow you back, mutuals, new followers and ghost followers. Profile Visitors is labelled as an estimate based on interactions like story views and likes, not a visit log, and Who Blocked Me shows possible blocks only. Good to know: Follo is a free download and your followers and following lists are free to view. Like every app of this type, it can only start counting from your first check.

FollowMeter (iPhone and Android)

Sign-in: inside the app; its website says "Connect your Instagram – Sign in securely" but doesn't say on which page you type your password. Actions: the site says it "never posts, likes or comments on your behalf". What it shows: unfollowers, accounts not following you back, ghost followers, who viewed your stories the most, possible blocks and "secret admirers". Its own FAQ says no app, FollowMeter included, can show who viewed your profile. Good to know: it was the app Google showed most often when we searched for these terms in the US on 15 October 2026, and it's on both stores.

Reports+ Unfollowers Follower (iPhone)

Sign-in: its privacy policy says you sign in through Instagram's web login in a Safari view and that your password is entered on Instagram's website, not seen or stored by Reports+. Actions: not stated in the listing. What it shows: accounts not following you back, ghost followers, disabled and deleted accounts, story interactions and up to four accounts. Its "profile interactions" feature says it doesn't reveal specific profile viewers. Good to know: iPhone only; we found no Android version in the US Play Store.

Reports Unfollowers Followers+ (iPhone)

Sign-in: not stated; the listing doesn't say how it gets your Instagram data, and the developer's privacy policy doesn't mention Instagram. Actions: its screenshots show an "Unfollow All" button. What it shows: who doesn't follow you back, top admirers, story viewer analytics, possible blocks and account growth. Good to know: because it doesn't say where you sign in, check that before you enter anything.

Reports・Followers Unfollowers (iPhone)

Sign-in: not stated; the description says its insights come from "publicly available information". Actions: not stated. What it shows: follower tracking, unfollower alerts, "secret admirers" and best followers; screenshots also show counters for profile interactors and possible blocks. Good to know: the terms and privacy policy are linked as shared documents rather than a website.

Followers & Unfollowers by FollowTech Apps (Android)

Sign-in: inside the app, with "multiple account login". Actions: its release notes mention an improved mass unfollow. What it shows: who doesn't follow you back, ghost followers, who removed their likes, possible blocks, anonymous story viewing and a "Who Visited My Profile" feature. Instagram doesn't share profile visits, so treat any such list as an estimate at best. Good to know: Android only, with ads.

Followers & Unfollowers by Sara Tech (Android)

Sign-in: inside the app, with multiple account login. Actions: the listing offers mass unfollow of up to 50 people in one action. What it shows: who doesn't follow you back, mutuals, recent unfollowers and a whitelist for accounts you want to keep. Good to know: one of the oldest apps of this kind on Google Play, Android only, with ads.

FollowBuddy (web, iPhone and Android)

Sign-in: none; you request your data from Instagram and upload it, and FollowBuddy says it doesn't need your password. Actions: none; it only reads the files you upload. What it shows: unfollowers between uploads and accounts that don't follow you back. Good to know: its listing says viewing unfollowers requires a subscription; the free web plan shows a few accounts that don't follow you back. Each new comparison needs a new export from Instagram.

Unfollr (web and iPhone)

Sign-in: none; you upload Instagram's data download (JSON or HTML), and Unfollr says it never signs in as you or sees your password. Actions: none. What it shows: unfollowers since your last export, not following back, fans, mutuals, and new and lost followers. Good to know: released in 2026, so there are very few reviews yet; the free web plan covers one account and two snapshots.

What recent reviews say about unfollower apps

We also read the most recent written reviews on the store listings. Across this category, including ours, the same complaints come up again and again:

  • Paywalls and trials. Features that used to be free moving behind a subscription, and trials turning into charges people didn't expect. Check what's free on the listing before you start a trial.
  • Wrong or stuck lists. People shown as unfollowers who still follow, or lists that never finish loading.
  • Login loops and account warnings. Being logged out again and again, and Instagram asking to confirm the account, restricting it or flagging automated activity after a login through an app. These reports are more common for apps that offer mass actions.

Which unfollower app should you pick?

If you check once in a while and don't mind waiting for a download, an export-reading tool or a manual comparison of two downloads keeps your login entirely inside Instagram. If you want to open an app and see who left since last time, pick one that signs you in on Instagram's own page, never acts on your account, and calls estimates estimates. Whatever you choose, unfollowers are counted only from your first check onward, and no app can tell you why someone left.

For the manual method and what Instagram itself shows, see how to see who unfollowed you on Instagram. If you used Unfollowgram before, read our Unfollowgram alternative notes.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free app to see who unfollowed you on Instagram?

Instagram's own data download is free, and you can compare two downloads yourself. Most apps are free to download but put their unfollower lists behind a purchase, so read the listing before you start a trial. In Follo, your followers and following lists are free to view.

Are unfollower apps safe?

They're safer when the sign-in happens on Instagram's own login page or there's no sign-in at all, and when the app never acts on your account. Instagram warns against giving apps your password, and accounts can be restricted for automated activity, so avoid apps that ask for your password on their own screen or offer mass unfollowing.

Can any app show who viewed my Instagram profile?

No. Instagram doesn't share profile visits with anyone. Apps that show "profile visitors" are estimating from interactions such as likes and story views.

Does the other person know if I use an unfollower app?

No. These apps read your own followers and following, and Instagram's Help Center describes no unfollow alert. It also says people aren't notified when you remove them as a follower or block them.

How we checked

We looked at the US App Store and Google Play listings, each developer's website and privacy policy, and Instagram's Help Center pages "Remove a follower on Instagram", "Should I use apps that offer likes and followers?" and "Why your account has been restricted for data scraping", plus Instagram's Terms of Use, on 15 October 2026. Listings change often; if anything here is out of date, email support@follotracker.com and we'll update it.
